Recruitable mobs / temporary alliances
If you offer a preferred food/valuable item to an enemy before they can attack, they might form a limited-time alliance with you, travelling with you (also fighting like a minion/pet), and making mobs of the same species/biome passive - this alliance can be ended sooner by attacking one of their species. There's a risk involved in offering an alliance, in that (1) you'd have to get close to an enemy *unarmed* first, (2) accidental 'friendly fire' could end things before you're ready, and (3) some enemy species can't be bribed. Only one alliance can be made at a time.
