Map sizes
It would be cool and useful if we could change the map size when creating the world, like in terraria

TheUnk0wnDeadSomething that has bothered me since the 1.0 map generation overhaul is that particularly the big POIs often generate too close to each other, some could argue that it may be more convenient that way but that frontloaded convenience kinda takes away the reason to bother and explore more of the biome.
In one case it really was just about 10-20 tiles until the next big POI could be seen, overall the world just feels squeezed together with little reason to explore too much, I also noticed that I haven't been levelling mining quite as much since then (granted there are more methods now, and less hits grant less exp irrelevant block type).
Larger world sizes could help, but I kinda feel like that might not be all there is to it, I get the feeling that too often certain more relevant POIs have been more likely to generate not too far from each other and rather early, like in my current playthrough both in the Wilderness and the Desert I immediately found a bigger/important POI.
