A reason to farm the grub kapok plant
The grub kapok plant is woefully underused. It would be cool if there was a place to use all that fiber, cause at a certain point you usually have a lot more fiber than you need.
I'm thinking a sea floor net to collect scrap and non-fish loot items that uses fiber as a resource. String lights that can be crafted with fiber. Curtains. More kinds of carpets (maybe the ability to recreate carpets you find while exploring?)
And to offset this added demand, fiber could be put into seed extractors just like any other plant.

What if just like other crops u get golden fiber for upgraded armor or new sets of armor that need the golden fiber. We could also stay away from the whole seed extractor to make it a little bit rarer -

MurnoI think the problem with fiber is that it can be obtained from too many sources: fishing, buying it from the bearded merchant, from chests, crates, and from practically all enemies and bosses in the early biomes. Because of that, you never feel the need to set up a farm for it, like you do with wood. So in addition to adding more crafting recipes that require fiber, I would also reduce the number of sources it can be obtained from.
