Skill Tree Weapon Feature Unlocks
Skill trees that pad stats are useful for creating a sense of character progression in their own way, but it would be super cool if additional features unlocked which mechanically affected gameplay. Some examples:
Scholar's Staff (Features unlock with skills spent in Magic):
- Use (standard): Shoots a magic projectile.
- Use (5): Hold then release for multi-shot.
- Secondary Use (10): Shoots instant beam attack.
- Secondary Use (15): Hold for sustained beam attack, can't move.
- Spacebar (20): Generate some magic barrier for self or nearby ally.
Wooden Sword (Features unlock with skills spent in Melee):
- Use (standard): Swing sword.
- Use (5): Swing now a 2 part combo, more damage later in combo.
- Use (10): Swing now a 3 part combo, crits on third hit.
- Secondary Use (15): Strong counterattack after taking damage.
- Secondary Use (20): Counterattack restores health based on damage taken.
Lots of possibilities to make weapons unique and worth upgrading, even into the late game.

Yes!! This would be really cool. If we wanted more 'RPG' elements, could even add something called 'Action Points' which fuels these special attacks potentially. Mana would utilise their MP + 'AP', Summoner would, though the MP requirements would be lower, meanwhile Melee and Ranged would use AP exclusively-- maybe Ranged could use some mana, though not a whole lot.
